What to Expect at a Premier Ballet and Concert Dance Competition
At Étoile Dance Competition, we provide an event explicitly focused on ballet and concert dance styles. Our unique format is designed to give dancers of all abilities the platform to perform, learn, and grow through a highly professional and inclusive experience.
The Étoile Experience: What We Provide
Morning Masterclasses
Every competition day begins with a morning masterclass that serves as a physical warm-up and an educational foundation. We also include a choreographic component where dancers learn contemporary choreography—a vital opportunity to build community and hone audition skills.
Audio & Video Feedback
Our competitions boast three inclusive entry levels ranging from beginner to pre-professional. No matter where a dancer is in their training, they will receive valid, constructive audio and video feedback from three esteemed judges to help them on their journey.
Transparent Scoring
Our judges provide scores out of a possible 100 points, focusing on the areas of artistry, technique, choreography/staging, and overall impression.
Guest Performances
Select events will have a guest performance from a local professional dance company to open our awards ceremony. If you know of a professional group that would like to be considered as our opener, please connect with us.
Awards & Scholarships
We hold a brief awards ceremony at the culmination of our events. Awards include the Top 3 Overall Scores, top scores for each age group (highest 20%), special judges awards, and many summer study scholarships and acceptances.

At Étoile Dance Competition, our mission is to provide an event explicitly focused on ballet and concert dance styles. We give dancers of all abilities the platform to promote their artistry through empowerment, education, and professional exposure.
We aim to provide constructive critiques for both students and instructors through a positive, supportive, and inclusive experience. Our esteemed judges and faculty come from professional backgrounds, including directors and recruiters of college programs and professional dance companies. We want all of our contestants to experience an impressive level of professionalism and leave our events inspired to hone their craft.
